“Beer?” he offered me.

“No thanks, I’m driving,” I said looking down at my nails feeling like I didn’t fit in here at all. I waited for them to ridicule me for being lame but to my surprise no one did.

“Alright let’s start this meeting then shall we?” Archer said and I looked up into his eyes and I gasped. Eyes that had been brilliant aqua blue yesterday where now an intense violet. The group looked at me like I was crazy and maybe they were right. I felt stupid once I thought about it because clearly they had to be contacts; people changed their eye color everyday with colored contacts. I felt like banging my head against the table but figured that would seal the deal of them all thinking I had lost my mind. Archer reached across the table and grabbed my hand and I felt the current between us again. It wasn’t a jolt like the first time we had touched but it was a warmth that ran all the way through me, he smiled.
